Celestine Cooney

Celestine Cooney grew up in the Irish countryside riding ponies and fishing in the river beside her house. Her mother maintains she changed her outfits four times a day as a child and was always wayward in her choice of attire. Early fashion moments include wearing a boy’s green corduroy shorts and waistcoat suit with a check shirt and Dr.martins for her confirmation day.

Her styling career began through a series of co-incidents and accidents in Dublin where she eventually became the fashion editor of Mongrel magazine and The Dubliner. In 2003 she moved to London to work for Dazed and Confused magazine as assistant to the senior fashion editor Nicola Formichetti. She is now a freelance stylist and lives in Hackney, East London.

Her clients include Topshop, Puma, BT2, Next, Topman and Levis. Musicians she has worked with include Maximo Park, M.I.A, Muse, Kano and Mika.

Publications Celestine contributes to include British Vogue, Teen Vogue, Chinese Vogue, Nylon, Mixte, Dazed UK, Dazed Japan and V Magazine. She is currently working on the Ashish show that she is styling during London Fashion week.
